The ESL Premiership season 5 is about to start at 14th March.

Roa,  Xephyr, cl_ment and LaBBe left us for higher teams. Roa went to 402…Xephyr plays for “unique”.  cl_ment left us for eXtensive and LaBBe is now part of Inf-D (Infinity-Delta).

Timae went into inactivity in the nations scene.

But, of course, we got some nice new members.

ak joined us from the english team dr-ukr. Marius89 joined us as the second screwdriver. From CMC, we welcome Maruk in our team. Our third new player is a well known player in the TMN scene. It’s the manager of 402, PsykoNova. He’s playing for TEP in all united-related tournaments.

Starting the PS5 at the 14.march, it means, that the matches will be played at sundays..

Sunday is also FET5-day. The most of the tamers have to play another 4 rounds in the Formula ET, so we have to hope for many wildcards!

All in all this first season went very well. We never had to forfeit a match and mostly could race with our best line-up. At this point I have to say a big “thank you” to our main leader Simply, who organized most of the matches in a perfect way. Also I wanna thank Jumperjack, who helped a lot with organizing through our forum.
Now here are some statistics for those, who like it (like me )

Though the first season was great, we’ll have to reorganise our team, because of some problems after our first season.
At first, there are three players, that already left the team out of different reasons. I am very unhappy to announce, that roa,labbe and timae left our team, because they were all great players and also great persons and we had a lot of fun in the past season.
Second, there will be some kicks, that are all not caused by skill or personality, but sadly, because of inactivity.
Through those two points, we have to search some new players, who are skilled and active and there are already positive news.
There are yet three new players: Xephyr(dr-ukr), Dynasty(TEP) and Maruk(CMC), but the admins are still searching for more players, that are active and skilled to complete our next Premiership team.
The next tournament we are facing is the Stadium Team Championship organized by ET-Tournaments. At the moment our line-up consists out of twelve players:
Dev!L, Dynasty, Figos, Infinite, JumperJack, Maruk, Neo, SimpLy, t!bo05, tcq, Xephyr, Zooz

As we were seeded in the mid-seed, we could be happy, that we don’t have one of the real big teams in our group. But PaF and exotic will be hard challenges. About WoS I don’t know nothing yet.
Our first aim on STC will be to reach the playoff stage by reaching at least the second place in our group, although we will of course try to win all matches.

The opponents were czechs named “°BUG°”, who played their first match in the premiership too.We had to play a 1on1 and a 2on2 on the first map, a 3on3 on a second map and a 4on4 on a third map.

After a …erm…”good” qualification (we were not that trained on the 1on1&2on2 map), we decided, that Infinite will drive the 1on1 and cl_ment and Zooz the 2on2.

In contrast, the bugs trained this map very well, so we lost the 1on1 4:7 and the 2on2 3:5. The 1on1 and the 2on2 give one point. The 3on3 and the 4on4 give 2 points each, so we still got a chance to win. Now, it was time for the 3on3 named Infinite, Dev!L and Figos, who were very strong on this map. They totally smashed the opponents with a clear 7:0 win!

2:2 is the score now..The 4on4 is the decider!

I wasn’t that nervous as at the Druidz-match..i knew, that we can defeat them. Our drivers were JumperJack, who had his first WTF-match, Infinite, Zooz and Dev!L. The great driving of the 3on3 continued and we won 7:1!

Final score: 4:2!

Couldn’t be different…The favourite meal for Frogs are bugs!

Our next match is at thursday against J-Team forces, the second team of the J-team..on the same maps, but they will be playing in different disciplines (e.g. the 3on3map at 1on1&2on2).

P.S.: yes, we can win without Roa too !

All matches after the Druidz match were won. Most of the opponents weren’t that well trained, so the wins came quite easily, although there were some close matches. Through this winning streak in the “Hot Phase” of the team rounds ladder, we finally finished 10th, when the ladder was closed on the 31th of august.

I was still excited, because there were no guarantees about how many teams will go to the Premiership. The rules just said: “The four best teams, which meet the restrictions, will be able to join the Third League.” and we weren’t top4.

On Wednesday the “Groups Drawing” news came out and everything was clear. 23 teams from the teams rounds ladder got into Premiership, so we easily qualified after all. We were drawed into Group D in the third league.

There are only few teams, that played last season, so i guess many teams are newcomers. Four teams were behind us in the teams rounds ladder, so I guess these teams are beatable. All in all the group doesn’t seem to be very hard and I think a place in the upper half of this group should be possible for us.

So, “we tame frogs” goes to the next level. Our first Premiership Season will start at the 13th of septembre with the match against “bug”. This team should be possible to beat, because they only finished 19th in the teams rounds ladder.

We accepted it…i thought it was a really stupid idea, because the chances to lose were high. The opponents have much experience in TMN-leagues and were pretty succesful in other teams like Replica or n!.

So…here is the day of the match, Thursday 20.08.09 (my PoV)

16h: talking with Roa…i don’t feel good. If we would lose, we lose so many points. Roa is confident, that we have a chance.

16h30: i’m an old pessimist..I write an application for a wildcard for the premiership…I’m afraid, we’ll not qualify

17h: The guys start to train..We have to play Heads Up 2x! The times look good. Roa claims the second dedimania record..WOHO!

18h15: The quali shall start now! DeviL said, that he cannot play…LaBBe too..Not good!

Only 5 people arrive. No real quali is needed. Roa, Zooz and 20-100 will drive. Good line-up!

19h: I’m in Skype with Infinite and Figos. We all join the Druidz-server, except Figos. He joins the relay.

Now, the show starts!

Druidz drove very constantly, but we had a very nervous start with many mistakes.. We lost the first “map” 7:3.. My hope was gone. We have to win 7:3 for a draw or 7:2 for a win…That sounded impossible for me! But was it?

KrollE was replaced by Luode, our line-up was the same.

Second map…Let’s get ready to rumble!

Druidz started to do more mistakes. We won the first two rounds..nice! But i still haven’t thought, that we could win.

This was reinforced by the fact, that Druidz won the next two rounds.

Start of Round 6..my heart isn’t beating in normal speed…it was high speed! I realized what’s happeningon this server! We might have a chance..i started to talk very nervous, i just focused on every round..

I start to scream out my feelings…no stoppages. “He’s crashed!” “COME ON COME ON”

My heart has reached a critical level..heart attack? I couldn’t watch the match..i ran through the room. “please let it be over!”

Oh god oh god..come come on..oooh goood

The only words i could say…

I was jazzed so much..i sat on the floor..”We will win this round”..i bit into my wooden desk. I don’t know why..i was so absorbed by the tension of this high-class match!

I just wanted this to be over…My heart was beating so enormous.

This could be it…The final round?

This one minute was the longest in my life..

“THIS IS IT! WE WON…WE F**KING WON!!!”

I was so happy. i shivered, had tears in my eyes and was just saying “oh my god” over and over again…It was so unbelieveable. We won against them!

All three, Roa, Zooz and 20-100 were so good…true progamers!

Roa said, that this was the match of his life! I agree! You 3 rocked the match…which was broadcasted at a relayserver with 40 (!!!) spectators!

Another news from WTF:

We won against NewFoundGlory at Saturday, so we are 11th now! Premiership, WTF is coming!

We have a new member named JumperJack (from CMC)! Welcome!

P.S.: Maybe you think now, that i really “live” too much in the virtual world, because of my HEAVY feelings during the match..But i think, that’s not true! It’s just the fact, that i’m very ambitious..espacially with this WTF-project. This is my dream, my motivation for the game at the moment and i want to show the people out there, that TMUF-players are able to pwn in the nations-scene!

And yes, i have a huge reallife!

We started our warm-up and qualification for the match at 20:30 although most of the people were on the server much earlier. The qualification included 2 warm-up laps and afterwards 4 laps of qualifying with MotoGP points.

On Heads Up Labbe, Roa and Zooz qualified for the match. On Parameter Oxyde got a reserved slot, because he trained a lot and prepared himself only for this track. One spot was given to Labbe, who won all qualification laps. Zooz gave his spot to Roa, who had really crashy laps in qualification, that already showed, what we had to expect on Parameter for the match.

Although the times and constancy in the qualification wasn’t promising, the team was in a good mood to win this one.

So the match started with Heads Up and the Line-Ups:

We Tame Frogs: Roa, Labbe, Zooz

First everything seemed to run smoothly on our home map and we easily had a lead of 4:1 with already 3 laps won by Roa. Somehow the concentration was gone after the first 5 laps and our team lost 4 rounds in a row and TZ took the lead with 4:5. In this 4 laps Zooz was the best driver with 2 wins, that sadly didn’t result in a point for our team. After this lack of concentration Roa came back with two lap wins and two points for wTf completed by Labbe and Zooz. After another crashy lap by our team, the tension raised to the maximum and the first map was decided in the last round at a score of 6:6. Roa again showed his skill with an impressive lap, so our team made this last point to 7:6.

Although the first map was won, still the possibility of a loss was in the air. Parameter came up as second map chosen by TZ. Already the qualification laps were filled with big crashes and also many guys, that couldn’t finish their laps. So it seemed as everything was possible on this map. There was only one line-up change: Oxyde replaced Zooz in our team. TZ didn’t change their line-up. Our team started well again with a 4:1 lead after 5 laps. This time Labbe made impressive 3 lap wins with very stable laps. As on Heads Up we lost some laps after the 4:1 lead, but this time at a score of 4:3 our team made a clear win with Roa directly followed by Oxyde and Labbe. This lap to 5:3 seemed to break their necks, because after this one, they only reached one draw and the match ended with the result 7:3 on Parameter.

To sum it up, it was a good race of our team. We won both maps, although it was quite close on Heads Up. Most Valuable Player was of course Roa with 11 wins in 23 laps. Also Labbe showed his skills, mainly on Parameter, where he won 5 of 10 laps. Zooz and Oxyde completed our teams perfectly and made this victory possible.

Thanks to all drivers and all, who tried to qualify. Also big thanks to all spectators, that joined the match server to support our team.

The first step to Premiership is done after this match. In the next days, there will be some other matches. The only one yet fixed is our match versus  “New Found Glory” at Sunday, 22 of august, but there probably will be more matches as the qualification is in it’s “Hot Phase” now.

…and this is the qualification for the ESL Premiership Season IV…Our MAINTARGET!

As you may know, we have to qualify us via the “Team Rounds Ladder”, a 3on3 ladder with self-organized matches (for me, it’s the worst way to handle a qualification…but ok ).

Today, DeathDriver (the ESL Headadmin) published the news for the premiership with some useful infos.

The mainpoint to mention is the end of the qualificationphase, which is the 31st of august…so things are getting serious now!

the top 4 teams are qualified  for the ps. But when you look at the rankings now, you see, that the first three teams already played in the last season..so place 4,5,6 and 7 are qualified now. But wait! Team 5 is inactive and team 6 is already in the premiership too. So…eehm.. the places 4,7,8 and 9 are qualified. Pretty complex, isn’t it?

But it’s NOT over yet. In the last season, 18 (!) teams retired. 18-4 = 14 teams, who have to getting moved up to the premiership (if it shall have the same amount of teams in every of the 3 third, 2 second and 1 first leagues)…

Now THAT would be too easy. We cannot be sure, that nearly all top20 teams will play the next season, if they want…we won’t let goddess fortuna decide about us..We want to play in the Premiership so much…We fight for it!

At Sunday, we have our next match against a german clan called “TerrorZocker” (TZ). We play on our homemap “ESL-Heads Up” and “ESL-Parameter” (their choice). Parameter is new for us…we never trained or played it before. But this is a nice preperation for the premiership, where we have to learn playing maps on a high level in only one week.

They are currently sixteenth and we are on place 23 at the moment. With a win, we would be 13th place!

I’m getting nervous RIGHT NOW…5 days before the match!

It would be a huge step, if…no..WHEN we’ll qualify! I don’t want to wait till next year.

To end this “little” blogentry, i can tell you something about the member situation at the moment:

People pay attention to our project. Many of them want to join We tame Frogs (I had 8 applications in the last 5 days), but i think, that we have a nearly perfect team together…with our two NEW members (CMC) LaBBe and (hal.ko.) TimaE.

They can be considered as reinforcement for the qualification…i’ll open the recruitment again, before the Premiership will start…if we are qualified..

There really is! And thats not the only problem..

It’s normal, that every player has a different motivation on training and driving matches…But sometimes, the motivation is influenced. Holidays, girlfriends…you know what i mean!

i haven’t to look very far to search an example…just take me. I have 4x a week sports, partys, meeting friends..and then i shall drive some matches? You have to decide, to set priorities…

In our team, it’s the same! For me, it’s always clear…Reallife (RL) is more important than Virtual Life (VL). I try to organize matches at dates, at which most of the players can drive…I respect it, if someone says, that he cannot. But if he says, that he’ll be there, i expect from him, that he has to be there.
But back to what i wanna say:

Finding motivation to train maps for a ladder is very hard with no fix dates of playing (i have to organize them by myself), etc…The reallife reduces your motivation too…

and then, there are Unitedtournaments too…

The other teams in the ladder, premiership mainly concentrate on the ESL. But we are very good unitedplayers, who have to train for the Giant Cup, the United League etc, which reduces the motivation and the time for ESL-train alot!

We lost 2 matches, because of too less training…

I think it’s important to find a good solution for yourself..Training all together has no sense…I, as the leader, just can say: “hey, wanna train?” and try to motivate…i think Roa has helped alot as a motivator…he drives very awesome times and provoke the others to train..

We’ll see! I hope, everybody in our team find a right balance..oh wait – as Roa said: “Don’t hope, just believe”!

You can see “We tame Frogs” (short WtF) as an experiment, a project…The mainidea was a (ESL-)TrackManiateam, with exceptional Stadiumplayers of TrackMania United Forever…Our maintarget is the ESL-premiership, in which every very good Nations-team plays!

My best friend, Infinite, and i, Simply, had this idea months ago…At 27.05.09, i asked several very good players. The same day, we created the team with the following members: Simply, Infinite, tcq, Figos, cl_ment, 20-100, Oxyde and Zooz.

The name “We tame Frogs” came end of 2008, where Infinite and i searched for a good name for our FETn1-team..Infinite got the idea of “WTF – We tame Frogs” and i was instantly impressed!

We carried the name through many other tournaments. Our 2on2 ESL-team was named “WtF”, our FET4-team too… and so on! For a consistent appearance, we made a ingame-tag with a green “WtF” and a white name and a Stadiumcar-skin by eh~guom and me

The teammember all have their Unitedclans too, in which they have to be active in the clanlife too…but with many evenings together and alot of chatting, we built up a very familiar atmosphere in our “community” (which WtF is).

Until the 2.july, we did 4 matches. We won 2 matches pretty good and we really got smashed in the other 2..The mainproblem was one of the mainpoints of the project..Many other united-tournaments of ET needed training too, so the ESL-training was not really much…

For this reason, i made several recruitments. Our first new player was Roa by TEP. He shines with very good times in Dedimania on the ESL-maps, which is so awesome for this qualificationladder!

At 26 and 27.july, t!bo05 by ScrewD. and Dev!L by hal.ko. joined us.

The maingoals were clear: a) new motivated good players to reinforce our team. b) motivation for the other members

Because of a new mappack for the ESL-tournaments, which has to be trained and important ET-touraments like the GC7,  the motivationboost for training was necessary!

This was the short introduction of what we’re doing…Everytime, something goes through my mind or a match will be played, i’ll write it in our blog
